Here it is, in the third person and everything! An artist’s Bio sort of a thing:
TRACY ANNE HART is perhaps best known for the widely published , exhibited and auctioned images of Texas Music legend Stevie Ray Vaughan who she had the privilege to photograph between 1983 and his untimely death in 1990. The prints have been shown in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon, where Hart is represented by several Galleries that show her music, architectural, and nature photographs. Sony Music has used her work both in Cds (covers and inside booklets), Billboards and print ads, and the Stevie Ray Vaughan images have appeared on PBS, VH-1, on DVDs and many books, magazines, and charity auctions along with shots of the many other Musicians she has photographed since 1979. Hart is a second generation photographer and has co-owned The Heights Gallery in Houston(now an online gallery only) since 1984 with her late father, famous photographer Leonard M. Hart. She was born in Elgin, Illinois and moved to Texas in 1969 with her family. Since she began taking pictures, she has been fascinated with the geometric symmetry and beauty of her native state’s architecture, bridges, and industrial sites, and her adopted state’s incredible music and Hill Country landscapes. She particularly enjoys capturing the architectural images at night, when even mundane details become examples of abstract grace. Her love for shooting great musicians goes without saying. She has had many FotoFest shows from 1996 on including a 2006 FotoFest Show: “Afterimage,” which featured adaptively reused buildings and the spirits and souls that reside within. This show also focused on the music personalities who frequently visited those venues. Hart’s Stevie Ray Vaughan Limited Edition Set debuted in 2007. The first Edition was sold to the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas. She also had shows at The Continental Club Gallery in Austin and at the Texas Folklife gallery. She worked with Austin band the ARC Angels on their CD/DVD package released late October 2009. Throughout 2012, 2013 and 2014 her images appeared in Premier Guitar, Guitar Player and Guitar World magazines in the USA and in Grand Gtrs and other magazines in Europe as well as online in a special Stevie Ray Vaughan Gallery, on Moab by Legion Paper’s website and blog, and in a Guitar World book on Vaughan. Many images have also been purchased by private collectors and businesses from Texas to Australia. She had images hung in Dallas in the Renaissance Hotel’s permanent collection. She will have two shows in Washington State and Oregon later in 2014. Her work is currently represented by the online music gallery Rock Paper Photo (including special exhibits in conjunction with John Varvatos and a special project with American Express in winter 2013) and by The Heights Gallery She taught live Music Photography Workshops and did the front and back covers of the Stevie Ray Vaughan CD: The Fire Meets The Fury, and has images in the official Sony Music 30th anniversary edition of “Texas Flood”, as well as an installation of her music photography at a restaurant in Houston and currently at a large camera store in Austin, Texas. She has a major article of her Stevie Ray Vaughan images and her writing in the second issue of the new Pure Guitar Magazine, and in the summer of 2013 she sold several prints of Vaughan to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas as well as a third sale later to the Hard Rock Vancouver, BC. She is currently working on publishing a book of her images of Vaughan.
